Exhibition @ Serralves Museum

As art expression spread to sound, more specifically to music, the common record cover has definitely become a cult object. Aside from vinyl record covers, this exhibition shows artists’ recordings from the 1920s to the present day alongside with documents on a whole range of sound and linguistic experiments, often at the limit of that which is understood as music.

Blindess, a new thriller by brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, is to open the Cannes Film Festival 2008.

Based on a novel by Portuguese Nobel Prize-winning author José Saramago, the film stars Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and Mexico’s Gael Garcia Bernal as the inhabitants of a town that is hit by a sudden epidemic of sight-loss. Moore plays the wife of a doctor, who is the only person to retain her sight.
